Muscle Activation, Backed by Science
CoolTone uses advanced magnetic stimulation to trigger deep muscle contractions that tone, strengthen, and define key areas like the abdomen, glutes, and thighs. This FDA-cleared treatment is completely non-invasive and can help you build strength without downtime or surgery.
At Gerrish MedEsthetics, CoolTone is designed as part of your AGE Body plan and sequenced using The AGE Mapping Method™. Whether you’re new to aesthetic medicine or looking to enhance results from other treatments, we’re here to answer your most common questions.
What is CoolTone?
CoolTone is a non-invasive body sculpting treatment that uses electromagnetic muscle stimulation to strengthen and tone the muscles. It targets the deeper muscle layers of your abs, glutes, and thighs and helps visibly improve muscle firmness and core strength.
What areas can be treated with CoolTone?
CoolTone is FDA-cleared to treat the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. These are the areas where people most commonly want to increase tone and structure. Your treatment plan will focus on the zones where CoolTone can deliver the most visible, effective results.
How does CoolTone work?
CoolTone uses a high-powered magnetic field to stimulate involuntary muscle contractions. These supramaximal contractions create the same effect as a high-intensity workout, strengthening your muscles faster and deeper than traditional exercise. One session delivers the equivalent of over 20,000 contractions.
What should I expect during the treatment?
Your CoolTone session will last about 30 minutes. You’ll feel a series of intense, rhythmic muscle contractions as the device works. Most clients find the treatment very tolerable, and some even describe it as energizing. There is no downtime afterward, and you can resume your normal routine immediately.
When will I see results?
Many clients begin to feel stronger within the first few sessions. Visible results usually appear after three to four treatments, with continued improvement across the full series. For most patients, the best results are seen after a total of four to eight sessions, scheduled over two to four weeks.
How long do results last?
With proper maintenance and activity, results can last for several months. For long-term success, we recommend periodic booster sessions and supporting your CoolTone results with an overall AGE Body strategy designed through The AGE Mapping Method™.
Is there any downtime?
No. CoolTone requires no downtime or recovery. You may feel muscle soreness similar to a good workout, but most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment.
Is CoolTone right for me?
CoolTone is ideal for individuals who are close to their ideal weight but want more muscle tone and visible strength. It works well for those who want to improve their core, lift their glutes, or firm their thighs. We will assess your goals and medical history during your Scottsdale consultation to make sure CoolTone is the right fit.
Can I combine CoolTone with other treatments?
Yes. Many of our patients pair CoolTone with CoolSculpting Elite for a more comprehensive body transformation. CoolSculpting reduces fat, while CoolTone builds muscle. When used together through your custom AGE Mapping Method™ plan, they help create balanced and refined contours.
What’s the difference between CoolTone and CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting targets fat cells by freezing and eliminating them. CoolTone activates and builds muscle fibers using electromagnetic stimulation. While CoolSculpting improves shape by reducing volume, CoolTone improves tone and strength. Together, they deliver a more sculpted, athletic result.
Is CoolTone safe?
Yes. CoolTone is FDA-cleared and clinically studied. At Gerrish MedEsthetics, treatments are overseen by experienced professionals and designed with safety, timing, and precision in mind. Dr. Gerrish’s AGE Method™ ensures that every plan is medically aligned with your goals.
Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect is mild muscle soreness after treatment, similar to post-exercise fatigue. There is no swelling, bruising, or redness. All treatments are performed in-office with no downtime or restrictions.
Who should not get CoolTone?
CoolTone is not appropriate for individuals with implanted electronic devices like pacemakers or defibrillators. It may also be contraindicated for those with certain muscle or nerve conditions. During your consultation, we will review your full medical history to ensure safety.
How much does CoolTone cost?
CoolTone pricing depends on how many sessions are needed and which areas are being treated. Every plan is customized using The AGE Mapping Method™. At your consultation, we will provide transparent pricing and outline a treatment schedule tailored to your needs.
